8 months... where has the time gone!

It has been way too long Sweet Girl and I apologize.

In this short amount of time you have accomplished:
Rolling over (front to back AND back to front)
Sitting up
Crawling
Standing
Pulling to stand
Cruising
Knee walking with a walker!

You are just blazing through life. We are trying to keep up!

Yesterday was my 34th birthday. I was fortunate enough to spend it with you and your Dad. We went to Roots Pizza and you were so excited. The entire two hours you were snacking on Cheerios and watching the people and all the lights.

Today we went to lunch with Melissa, Rick and Major. He is a big big boy. You will probably have a crush on him later. ;-)

Loving you continues to change me and how I think of the world. Any sad news about kids breaks my heart more than I ever thought possible, simply because I imagine how I would feel if anything happened to you. It makes me further focus on being a loving, patient and fair to you as possible - and to protect you as you grow.

Your Dad and I love you.

Sleep tight Tab!

Love,
Mom

Sleep Training - Cry It Out Isn't for the Faint of Heart

Tab, you are blowing our minds here!

You are now six months old and you:
-Sit up
-Play nicely by yourself
-Crawl both normal and army style
-Are starting to stand

A few nights ago I was making a dinner of eggwhites, turned to the monitor and you were TRYING TO STAND UP WHILE STARING AT THE MONITOR! We immediately ran downstairs and began dropping the bed height in the crib because clearly you are a lady on the move.

We started sleep training last Monday. Since your Dad is the one home with you it has been harder on him. You don't know it, but we are just trying to help you learn to soothe yourself and get/stay asleep longer. Friday afternoon for your third of your three daily naps, after your Dad left you in your crib you dropped your head and cried. You wouldn't even look at him. It broke his heart. Don't worry, he has forgiven you (he was never mad) but man, that guy is really taking an emotional beating. You are indeed strong willed, little lady.

Other than that your Dad and I do our day to day at work or home and just spend our time in awe of you and all that are you doing.

This weekend we are checking out homes in Western Springs. Trying to find a good school for you. ;-)

Hello Sweet Girl

September 6, 2014

You were born April 11, 2014. I had meant to create a journal for you but life, work and loving on you got in between. Your Grandma Jan reminded me last weekend that I should start journaling about you. So here we are, almost five months out with the first post. And since paper can burn, I figured a blog to you would be the best way to cement the memories in perpetuity for you, Sweet Tab.

As today was Saturday, I was at home all day with you and your Daddy. You have been rolling over since 8 or 9 weeks and you spent so much time today trying to crawl. At about 4 months and 3 weeks, you are advancing by leaps and bounds. Not content on pleasantly sitting there, you are trying to get your locomotion in order ASAP. Your Daddy is fairly confident this means you will always advance rapidly and be the President of the United States at an early age.

We took a bath this evening. Just you and me. You prefer a bath solo in your baby bathtub where you can kick with abandon, but clearly I prefer the closeness to you and I can't help but do a big girl bath with us both. After finally getting you into your nighttime diaper and getting your wiggly wiggly body into your footie PJs, you are now asleep!

I love you, Tab. As your Grandpa Charles says "You are a national treasure". ;-)
